What Causes Nausea And Vomiting?

I felt nauseous and vomited pure thick back tarry substance. I had not eaten any dark food. It was one time. It was so thick. The bowl didn't rinse clean. I have. Red about blood..but, based on what tires up, that does not seem to fit. Dang auto correct... "read" and "came up"
