What Causes Nausea And Vomiting Despite Taking Paxil?

My son, 24 yrs old. Thought he had IBS. once treated with Lexapro. Went off after college and now has moved to new city. Now...he doesn t really display IBS symptoms but rather nauseaous and vomiting. Saw Dr. Gave Paxil, started with 5 mg and increased to 10 within one week. For two nights he only took the 5 mg because he didn t like side effects. Felt light headed and uneasy. Today he is vomiting and nauseaous and can t seem, to keep food down. Tired all the time and doesn t sleep well with only about 5/6 hrs. Exhausted and scared.

Hello,

As a first line management, you can take an antacid-antiemetic combination like pantoprazole domperidone for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
