What Causes Nausea And Vomiting After Taking Gleostine?

Yes. My husband has been prescribed Gleostine. This is the third night after his first dose and is experiencing bad nausea and vomited this evening. He had been formerly taking Temodar, which had been on for 20 mths. Is this normal for the 3rd day following his dose? He had been able to tolerate the other pretty well, but he seems much more extremely nauseous with this so far. Very Concerned, TC

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Nausea and vomiting are common side effects of taking Gleostine. The nausea and vomiting generally subside within 24 hours.
For severe vomiting and nausea medicines that decrease the symptoms may be prescribed like anti acidity agents like Ranitidine and antiemetic like Domeperidone.
Frequent small meals, or not eating before the medicine and limiting activity after taking the medicine are sometimes advised to decrease these side effects.
In case these measures don't help, consult your doctor regarding changing the drug or dosage.
Hope this answers your question, thank you.
