What Causes Nausea And Headache?

My 7 year old daughter has been complaining of feeling "queesy", a little nauseated for about 2 months now.. This occurs daily and sometimes it lasts a few minutes, other times it lasts off and on all day. Every once in a while she will have a headache too. She has bad allergies, so the MD and I were treating it as such. She is not a "complainer" I am getting a bit concerned that the symptoms have not gone away

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your daughter's symptoms. They are suggestive of migraine.

Migraine can occur in children, when it is called as paediatric migraine. Headache and nausea can be explained on the basis of migraine.

Since she has frequent episodes of headache, she would require preventive medications.

Good options include propranolol, flunarizine and cyproheptadine. These medicines would reduce the severity and frequency of headaches.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
