I believe I had a case of food poisoning last Sunday night after eating a pepperoni pizza. Felt queasy at 7:00pm took some Gaviscon - had bad restless night - around 6 am started nausea, vomiting & soon after diahria. This continued till I went to emergency dept of local hospital feeling dehydrated & very sick. They put me on fast drip of sodium ..? & something to alleviate nausea. Left after about 4 hours feeling better. Could not eat anything that and next day but had plenty of water, Glucodin and a smoothie drink. Then yesterday (Wednesday) I ate 2 light boiled eggs & one slice of bread mid morning, and another slice of toast with avocado & ham early evening. Bad night again, slight nausea upon waking & watery diahria back again every fifteen minutes or so. Pains in stomach has been fairly constantly there with varying degrees of pain as well as headaches (not normally suffering from any). Question is if this is typical of food poisoning or could it be something else? If the prior then roughly how long before symptoms disappear & the body heals itself?
