What Causes Nausea And Abdominal Pain While On Calcitriol?

Hi I have been taking Calcitriol Capsules, 0.25 mcg. Three times a week. I am feeling nausea, stomach blotting and pain. I also am very weak and been feeling hot and cold on and off. I do take other meds in which I haven t had any of these feelings before. Should I continue taking this and if so will my body get used to it. I have Hyperparathyroidism and they are a little swollen and that is why he put me on this.

Hello, my name isiDr Olgeta Xhufka. I understand your concern. Calcitriol is not supposed to give side effects. You are having a high dose that's why you are having this effects. You have to lower the dose. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
