What Causes Nausea And Abdominal Bloating While On Meloxicam And Oxycodone?
I had a shoulder arthroscopy on April 19. On may second a had my post op appointment. I am on meloxicam twice a day for 4 weeks and also oxycodone to release my pain. I feel nauseous, bloated and I am putting on weight rapidly. Does it have to do with my médecines ,or my diet ,or my sedentary status? I feel terrible and depressed.. I am 61 years old
I'm sorry to hear you've been having some problems while on Meloxicam and Oxycodone. Your symptoms sound concerning to me, especially the weight gain. With sudden weight gain, I would be concerned with fluid retention.
Sometimes medications like Meloxicam can affect the kidneys, which can lead to fluid retention, so I would recommend you stop taking that medication and see your doctor to check your kidneys. Meloxicam can also affect your stomach which may be making you nauseous.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch,
General & Family Physician
