What Causes Nasal Congestion, cough And Light Headache?

I have had some type of sore throat or strep throat since thursday of last week and I noticed I have not been regularly using the bathroom for number 2. I also have stuffy nose, sometimes an occasional small headache and a cough that usually gets worse at night.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome
I really appreciateyour concern

Looking at your symptoms this could be any of following
Upper respiratory tract infection
Sinusitis
Allergic reaction

If such a patient comes to my clinic I would advise to get complete blood count and ESR
after thorough examination I would prescribe antihistaminic group of drug preferably levocetirizine and a cough syrup with decongestant nasal spray

a course of antibiotics after getting the blood report or if it doesn't improve with symptomatic treatment

do warm saline gargles
steam inhalation
deep breathing exercises

Hope this helps you
wishing you good health
