What Causes Nasal Congestion Long After Tympanoplasty?

I feel congestion in my nose mostly in the morning. I had tymphanoplasty operation 2 two and half years back. Now also I feel irritation and sounds in my ear. Recently while cleaning nostrils I got blood. ENT Doctor said it is due to allergy and DNS problem after seeing the scan. Advised to take Rupanex M. But while checking in google I observed many side effects. Should I take the medicine?

Hii ,

Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here

As you already consulted with an ENT surgeon and undergone scan which indicates that your issue is due to DNS and allergy and Doctor has Prescribed Rupanex M and it is right drug of choice so YES I would advise you to take medicine as directed by your Dr and get it checked after few days
As nasal congestion is a common problem with people who have a DNS , due to allergy your nasal mucosa get inflamed and cause obstruction
you may also use nasal decongestant drop or spray after consulting your dr
along with this breathing exercise and yoga will help too
you can also try saline nasal drops
apart from this try to stay away from things which cause you allergy like dust etc ,

You had undergone Tympanoplasty 2.5 years ago so most probably it has nothing to do with your nasal congestion now

Finally i would strongly suggest you to keep the treatment continue until u get completely recovered

I hope it help
