What Causes Nasal Blockage And Sneezing At Night While On Pravastatin?
Hi my husband is using prove station 10 mg for 8 months. Since 2 months ago he has shown some symptoms such as severe blockage of nose during night, difficulty in breathing and sneezing. As he consumes his medication at night and usually these symptoms are shown during night and bedtime could it be any relation between consuming this drug and these symptoms. His complete blood test was normal recently
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of nasal blockage and sneezing at night while on Pravastatin which could be due to allergic rhinitis, nasal polyp and which can be caused by bacterial or viral infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order nasal swab test and blood tests to get complete examination done. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial ( amoxicillin) or anti viral ( acyclovir ) depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants . For now continue doing gargles and drink one spoon of honey mix with glass of lukewarm water .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
