What Causes Muscle Spasms On The Back?
I am having trouble with muscle spasms in my back, especially my lower back. I take xanax when needed, Daily I take Oracea, effexor, synthroid, losartan potassium. Recently cabergoline has been added. These pills together seem to be dehydrating. Is it possible that the interaction of these medications could be contributing to my back spasm? I had to go to the emergency room at the local hospital two nights ago as I could not stand up nor walk. They took X-ray said I had no broken vertebras. Now, I am on Ibuprofen, cyclobenzaprine, and oxycodone for my back. Help…

* Muscle spasm can be primarily due to physical exertion or secondary to the underlying pathology of inflammation or else.
* If the X-ray is normal, the second step of evaluation would be MRI of the concerned region to proceed further.
