What Causes Muscle Spasms In The Left Knee?

I have been having muscle spasms to the point of hurting my left knee. I think it is a tendon pulled. I have these kind of muscle spasms at night and tonight they are coming back. I was on a generic Olanzapine before but Walgreens changed the generic to a Sun brand. It seems to have different affects on me. I can t go on with the muscle spasms at night and tonight I can t even sleep.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic

Muscle spasms while in anti psychotic like olanzapine should not be taken lightly. Muscle spsans you are experiencing could be due to dystonia occurring as a side effect of olanzapine.
Reducing the dosage of olanzapine and adding benzodiazepines to treatment regime can help.
Please be advised to follow up with your treating physician for further assessment and required dose changes.

Hope this answers your questions
