What Causes Muscle Pain Post Intake Of Meloxicam?

Hello. My husband has been on Meloxicam 7.5mg for 3 days for the treatment of arthritis in his L5. Almost immediately he began with moderate to severe muscular aches and overall lethargy. Can you tell me please if these are symptoms associated with Meloxicam?

Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. Please find my advice below-:
1)Meloxicam is a NSAID and common side effect of this drug is Dyspepsia, headache, Nausea, Diarrhoea, Upper resp tract infection, Abdominal pain, dizziness, oedema, flatulence, influenza-like symptoms, musculoskeletal and connective tissue signs and symptoms ( back pain, muscle spasms, musculoskeletal pain), rash, anaemia, elevated LFTs.
2)If pain is unbearable change it.Please talk to your local doctor regarding use of cortisone injection or tablet orally
