What Causes Muscle Pain In The Leg After A Heart Valve Repair Surgery?

Hi I am a 48 year old woman in good shape and had a heart valve repair done June 23rd My groin scar ( left side) is elevated and sensitive and it travels down my left leg ( stop above the knee) Even though most of that part of the leg is still numb I feel a pain when I press on it. The scar is not infected just elevated. I am worried about a trombose because they took me of the blood thinners because two days ago I ended up in the hospital with a Hematoma is my chest. Should I be worried about this mild pain ( like muscle pain) in my left leg? It isn t swollen or red.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suggested to stay under observation in a hospital, get the hematoma treated. Hematomas when neglected can be dangerous & life threatening. Stay under the supervision of your treating doctor & under medical staff as you also have a history of Mitral valve repair surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
