What Causes Muffled Feeling With Less Hearing In Ear After Hitting?

I was hit in my ear a few days ago and since then its been incredibly muffled. I can still hear out of it but not as well as my other. Also, when I close my nose and blow air comes out, I tried water and hydrogen peroxide but it hurts. Whats happening?

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that due to trauma there has been injury to the ear drum leading to perforation of the eardrum and it is the cause of muffled hearing, discharge of air when air is blown by pinching nostrils and pain..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do an otoscopy to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms.

In case if the perforation is small then he can advise you antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicine, steroids and decongestants..
In case if the perforation is large surgical patching has to be done..
Avoid exposure to excessive loud sounds..
Avoid excessive water exposure like swimming if you do..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
