What Causes Mouth Sores Along With Fever In A Child?
My 9 years boy got mouth sores quite frequent along with fever and general body tireness. The doctor asked for some blood tests and the results were within the reference limit except for RBC = 5.36 and MCV= 74.1 fl The other results were: Hemoglobin =142 MCH = 26.5 pg MCHC = 35.8 RDW= 13.6% Platelets= 331 MPV=9.4 fl WBC= 7 What does that mean ?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of mouth sores along with fever which seems to be due to recurrent aphthous ulcers, nutritional insufficiency and could be due to poor oral hygiene. It could be due to poor and compromised immunity of body.
Need not to worry. Usually they resolve by themselves in few days. I would suggest you to avoid spicy food and acidic drink. Your child have abnormal value for RBC and MCV which seems to be due to dietary insufficiency. Do warm saline rinses and use antiseptic mouthwash like chlorhexidine and brush your teeth twice a day. If the condition do not resolve in 4-5 days then consult dentist for proper examination and to rule out other conditions . Take antiviral medications. Drink plenty of water and fluids.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
