What Causes Morning Sickness And Abdominal Bloating In A Diabetic Patient?

I am a 75 year old female with type 2 diabetes, osteopenia, arthritis, and high cholesterol. I take metformin, losartan, spironolactone, ibanatrate, simvistatin plus some D3, calcium, and low does aspirin. My blood glucose readings range from 109 to high mid 120s. For the past several months when I get up in the morning, I don t feel very good. I feel hungry but when I eat I can t finish my food. Today I had a decent breakfast around 10 am and it is now after 2 and I still feel full. I just seem to have this general overall low feeling. I will be seeing my doctor on the 14th of March for a three month check up. I know I should be eating regular meals, but the thought of putting more food in my mouth makes me gag. What is going on??

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of morning sickness and abdominal bloating in a diabetic patient which seems to be either infection or inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to proton pump inhibitors and antacids such as Pantoprazole along with domperidone. Sometimes infection occur in person with diabetics due to low immunity .You should take antispasmodics as well. Take plain and soft food and avoid hot, sharp and spicy food substances. You should take oral rehydration solution for maintaining the hydration and electrolyte balance of the body. You should consult gastroenterologist once and get complete blood investigations done. Start treatment after proper diagnosis. also eat slowly , drink plenty of warm water , do moderate workout , Simethicone is a drug that can be taken as it helps in relieving symptoms of excess gas and bloating and take plenty of Probiotics like Yoghurt in diet.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
