What Causes Missed Period Despite Taking I-pill Post Unprotected Sex?
hi, i am 28 years old. 12 days back(was closer to my periods), i had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and took ipill to stop pregnancy within 2 days. How ever i still didn t have my periods. So after the 10th day i have started taking regestrone (2 tablets a day). Have already taken 3 tablets and still haven t had my periods. Could u please help me out here as am very worried that i might be pregnant and why are the tablets not working. Is there any other tablets that i can use now to avoid pregnancy. Kindly help me out. Thanks, Swati
* As per my clinical experience, the missed period even after Regestrone and I pill is more likely to be related to pregnancy (as the I pill intake was 2 days after unprotected sex which was done during fertile period). Kindly get an ultrasound examination done with your OBGY for further assistance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
