Hi,

Pregnancy tests detect the HCG hormone which is normally detectable by day 11 to 14. The levels continue to increase as the pregnancy progresses. This means that if 14 days have passed since you could have possibly conceived, a test would be able to detect this and it would be positive.

If this time has not passed, then you should wait a few days and repeat. PCOD is a common cause of delayed period and if the test is truly negative, this is the likely cause.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
