What Causes Missed Dose Of Amoxicillin?

I m currently taking 3 500 mg of Amoxicillin for an ear infection. I cant remember if I took my bedtime pill or not . I m pretty sure I didn t, and I found one sitting on my bathroom sink like I had it ready for bedtime but didn t take it at the time.Would it hurt to double up or should I skip this dose if I m not totally sure.

Hello,

if you're an adult then I would advise you to take it as soon as possible. Doubling the dose wouldn't normally hurt you but missing a dose might increase the risk for an unsuccessful treatment. If you remember the time that you started taking amoxicillin then perhaps you can count the pills to find out for sure. For example if you've taken 5 doses so far you can count how many pills are missing and how many should have been missing (5 doses).
