What Causes Mild Itchiness And Small Bumps On The Labia Minora?

I think I have a yeast infection because I am a little itchy, but when observing my vagina, I found small bumps on my labia minora. I freaked out thinking its herpes but the more research I did, they look exactly like vestibular papillae, not like herpes at all. How can I know the difference for peace of mind before going to doctor tomorrow?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It appears from your description that you are having a yeast infection. Kindly do the following:

1. Cleanse the region with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily.
2. Use solution like 'V wash' regularly.
3. Use anti-fungal medication containing miconazole or fluconazole as cream, ointment, or suppository for 3 days.
4. Maintain good personal hygiene.
5. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely. Gradually, your symptoms should subside and be back to normal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
