What Causes Mild Headache And Muscle Pain In The Neck Area After A Spider Bite?

I have a slight headache, some muscle ache in neck area and back as well muscle in my thighs. Also have a slight fever and a little nausea. Last week about this time I was bitten by a spider (don t know the kind of spider). Are these delayed symptoms of a spider bite? Also what treatment is recommended?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a spider bite. Some advice that I may give to you are:

Clean the bite with mild soap and water. Apply an antibiotic ointment. Apply a cool compress to the bite.

If the bite is on an arm or leg, elevate it. Take over-the-counter medications such as Ibuprofen 400 mg to relieve the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
