What Causes Mild Fever, Muscle Soreness And Tiredness After Taking Prevnar?

Received Previnar 13 vaccine 5 days ago. I experienced the following side effects 24 hrs later: chills, low grade fever 100.7, muscle soreness and tiredness. I am no longer having chills or temp but continue with the overall soreness and tiredness. How long should I expect these symptoms to last? I am a 72 yr. old female very active.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have mild fever, muscle soreness and tiredness after taking Prevnar. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to prevnas as its side effects . Prevnar is known to case side effects like nausea , high fever and pain in body , which usually go away with times. I would suggest you to consult doctor who give this vaccine . Doctor may prescribe painkiller or paracetamol for pain and muscle soreness . For now drink plenty of water and take proper rest .
