What Causes Mild Abdominal Cramps And Headaches After An Abortion?
I had an abortion two and a half weeks ago and I have been having really bad headaches for the last two days I have also been spotting since the day of the procedure with mild cramping at times. What could be wrong? I will really appreciate your assistance
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The hormonal changes which has happened during pregnancy could take about 4 to 6 weeks to normalize following abortion. Hence, during this period, you could experience certain symptoms like headache, intermittent spotting and abdominal cramps. You need to take symptomatic treatment like analgesics or anti-spasmodics to get relieved from the same. Gradually, such symptoms should subside and subsequently your periods also should resume as normal. Kindly confirm that all the products of conception has been expelled completely by means of an ultrasound scan. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
