What Causes Migraines, Face Distortion And Slurred Speech?

I was just put in a hospital for possible having a stroke. I have had several situations in the last five days where I have had a major migraine. The day after the migraine my face is distorted and my speech has been slurred enough to have people bring this to my attention. They said they see nothing on the mri and scan that shows a stroke and that its just a migraine. These headaches where different than I have every had. Could it still have been a stroke?

Hello,

There is a type of migraine is called hemiplegic migraine in which one side of the body is throbbing pain with weakness. It may affect facial nerve also. It may recover slowly. But scans may be normal. So take medication for migrane and keep in touch with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
