What Causes Migraine Headache In An Elderly Person?

My son had cebral palsy as a child...he was born 2 months early.... This must have been the cause....it was not paralyzing, however, he had some speech problems and some muscle problems, he had speech and physical therapy until he was in 5th grade when they said he no longer needed help. School was very hard for him but he worked hard.....I believe the therapy helped his attention span. He is now 52 years old and has had a dissected artery in his neck and almost died........he has been getting migraine headaches....yesterday he had a very bad one .......he affects his eyes and arms......about a month ago his arm started giving him problems it is hurts him when he moves it.............he works at the airport here as a field maintenance worker......he clears the runway and takes care of the trees etc.....I am wondering if his medical problems could have anything to do with anyof his medical problems...... Thank you so much Ps the dissected artery was in his neck Margaret

Hello,

Most likely the cause of his headache is not migraine. The dissected artery may cause a severe headache and can affect his eye on same side. We should treat dissecting artery then if the headache persist we will look for another reason.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
