What Causes Metallic Taste In The Mouth After A Dental Procedure?
I had two teeth removed four months ago. From an over filled with canal I've had to have a sinus repair. It's been an overwhelming roller coaster of healing. This week I have a metal taste in my mouth. Not sure where it's coming from it's never been this bad I've always had a little bit of a weird taste and an issue tasting food
As per your complain persisting metallic taste in mouth can be due to infection in the salivary gland leading to discharge of infectious fluid known as Pus and it can be a common cause of metallic taste under tongue.. Other causes of metallic taste under tongue can be side effect of any medication, dental and gum infection, ulcers etc.. It can also be due to acid reflux..
So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can chew flavoured sugarfree chewing gum to mask the bad taste Gargle with flavoured antimicrobial mouthwash.. Drink plenty of water..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
