What Causes Metallic Taste In Mouth After Suffering From Sore Throat?

I've had a mild sore throat in the morning for about 2 weeks. I went to urgent care about a week and a half ago. and it is not strep. I did not have any other symptoms, until yesterday. I now have a metallic taste in my mouth. I am on medication since June for Laryngopharyngeal Reflux. Could it be allergies or something more menacing?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have symptoms of metallic taste in mouth after suffering from sore throat which is due to poor oral hygiene of oral cavity and use of medications such as antibiotics if any you used for sore throat. This is very common after infection of sinuses. Need not to worry about. I would suggest you to take supplements rich in iron. Take fruit, juices, lime. Visit oral physician once and get cleanliness of oral cavity done. You should brush and floss regularly and do rinses with warm saline and antiseptic mouth wash. You should chew on salivary substitutes to stimulate salivary flow. Avoid intake of junk food and its accumulation in oral cavity especially at night time. Take steam inhalation.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
