Im a 56yr female just been diagnosed with mild pulmonary hypertension. I also have systemic lupus and fibromyalgia. Im a non smoker, but like a couple a glasses of red a week, and have a healthy diet. What lifestyle changes should I be looking at?and travelling with lupus is a problem but can be done, what about travelling with ph?
good evening. your pulmonary hypertension. could be secondary to lupus itself. for lupus we don't recommend much of the lifestyle or diet changes. you should try and lead your life as normally as you can. since you have a mild pulmonary hypertension, you should be careful with air travel. cause at high altitude the oxygen saturation is less and it can cause you a bit of discomfort. as long as you are on medication it should be fine. but try avoid mountain areas till the pressure comes down. road travel is totally fine. hope the information was useful
There is not much you could do, however you could avoid direct sun exposure, try eating a balanced diet, mantain your weight, exercise regularly. during travel be active and avoid sitting still for long periods of time , in order to prevent thrombosis.
