What Causes Lumps In The Armpits?

I have been getting lumps in my armpits since February. I went to the doctor and was told it was from shaving, which I know it isn t the case. Two days later, it went away and moved to the other arm. It or they are painful and usually last two to three days and then disappears and moves to the other arm. Shaving is not the cause as I discontinued and the lumps still appear, go away and reappear. Any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms can be related to reactive lymph nodes.

Usually that increase in size due to an infection.

I suggest you do a complete blood count for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
