What Causes Lump On The Stomach Which Is Enlarging In Size?

My husband got a lump on his stomac that doubled in size in one day. it is about 2 cm in diameter and red. it feels solid hard, does not move under the skin and is painful. It was a little knot about 5mm large for years and last weak it started to grow rapidly. what is that?

I understand your concern, lump which was there near stomach for more than a year and suddenly increasing in size may be for so many reasons and without elaborative information such as age, exact site and type of lump and associated symptoms such as fever, vomiting, it is very difficult to ascertain the cause.
