Hi,
How did this start? Any history of fall or hit there? Any discolouration of the overlying skin? Usually a sudden onset lump like this suggests a contusion following some form of trauma. If there is no pain, continue ice packing for 48 hours. If pain comes, you can take Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen. In case no relief by 3-4 days or the area become hot / red / tender (suggesting secondary infection), we will need further evaluation and treatment accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
