What Causes Lump In Gum?

I had a baby tooth with no adult tooth underneath. I'm 28 now and it has finally came all out. It started with a cavity and decayed and then the little pice that was left eventually fell out. It's been about a week and now I noticed a little lump in my gum. Is this really bad?

Hi dear ,

As per your query you had a deciduous tooth which fall out and left behind lump in a gum . The symptoms you mention in query are poiting towards a dental abscess . Infection from the cavity spread upto the root tip of teeth and to gums also . I would suggest you to consult dentist for proper examination . Doctor may take X-ray to rule out condition of remianing tooth piece in gum which is causing infection . Doctor may clean the gum with hydrogen peroxide and prescribe antibiotic course along with anti inflammatory . For now doe warm saline rinses several times a day .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
