What Causes Lump And Bruise On Abdomen After Carrying Heavy Weights?

My 20 year old son is a chief . He was helping someone carry a heavy table like object up some stairs where the other person let go and my son took the weight of it on his stomach. This happened 5 days ago. Needless to say he has a awful bruise going across the whole off his stomach. Today he noticed a lump the size of a 10 pence piece under a part of the bruise. My son has no other symtoms( ie not peeing blood , no pain in tummy etc) do you think we should get this looked at or could it be tissue.

Hello,

The bruise on abdomen is likely to be due to trauma caused on abdomen. Bruise is caused due to accumulation of blood in sub-cutaneous tissue. I suggest you to consult a primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and relevant investigations.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
