What Causes Lower Pelvic Pain?

I have been having sharp pains in the lower pelvic area but no one seems to know why. Already have been to a urologist and still no answer. A CT scan was also done but not sure if they were looking in the right place. So I am trying to figure it out myself. Am 62 so not periods or menopause anymore. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thank you for the question!
Some common causes include :1Problems of the reproductive system(endometriosis, adenomyosis and uterine fibroids).2Scar tissue in the pelvic area after an infection.3.Diseases of the urinary tract(irritable bowel syndrome etc.I would advice you to have some tests, such as:blood and urine test, tests for STis,transvaginal ultrasound,MRI.etc.You may also have a type of minor syrgery called laparoscopi. To relief pain, you can use pain relievers such as ibuprofen or naproxen, you can try consueling to give you emotional support and reduce strees.
Best regards!
