What Causes Lower Left Pelvic Pain When Diagnosed With Intrahepatic Bile Duct Dilatation?

I have groin pain on left side, test came back mild diffuse intrahepatic bile duct dilation. The common bile duct measures 13 mm in diameter. All other text came back normal. I do not have a gallbladder or appendix. My GI Dr. says he does not know why i have left side groin pain. Why is he testing my liver? Is 13mm in diameter large. I m confused.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The two are likely not related. You should probably have an MRCP scan of your liver, and possibly ultrasound for your groin problem could be a hernia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
