What Causes Lower Back Pain At Night And Loose Stools?
Hi, I have been having lower back pain, mainly during the night and it seems to be getting worse. The back pain gets better during the day when I am up and moving. Also, I am having loose stools now for a couple of weeks. My stomach growls a lot and anytime I eat I get a bloated feeling. What could be causing this?
I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.
I think that your symptoms might be caused by IBS(Irritable bowel syndrome). To relieve your symptoms you should follow these guidelines: 1. Avoid spicy and acidic foods. 2. Avoid alcoholic and carbonated drinks, coffee and milk. 3. Give up smoking(if you smoke). 4. Proton pump inhibitor medications such as Omeprazole and, Mesalazine are necessary.
To confirm the diagnosis you need an abdominal ultrasound, complete blood count, colonoscopy, liver function test and urine test.
Wish you good health. Dr. Behar.
