General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the phenobarbital is an anti-convulsant drug and never recommended for abdomen pain and backache in any pregnant woman. The possible cause of pain may be:
- Stretching of uterine portions from developing fetus
- Intestine colic from irregular bowel habits
- Postural related
- Weight lifting maneuvers
- Urinary retention
- Or others.

It is best recommended to take an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis in this regard for further guidelines of management. It is recommended also to discuss the use of phenobarbital in your case. Till that Buscopan can be used safely without any problems.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
