What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain After Urination?

Hi Been having pain after peeing with lower abdominal pain and peeing more often. Plus have been peeing in pants, a little, while sleeping. One night really peed the bed. Has been going on for 4 days now. Wasn t sure if it was coming from a kidney stone. Any idea what could be going on? Thanks

Hello,

I understand your concern. The symptoms you are describing sound like you might be experiencing a urinary tract infection, that may involve the kidneys, urethers or the bladder. In order to determine the site and the cause of infection, you need to see a doctor in order to run a few tests, first of all a urine test and then decide how to go from there according to the findings.
A kidney stone would also with sharp flank pain, requiring pain killers, whereas a bladder stone is more likely to present with a lower abdominal pain like the one you are experiencing, as well as with frequent urination.
In the mean time, while waiting to see a doctor, what you can do at home is drink more water in order to help flush out the bacteria from the urinal tract.
