What Causes Low Potassium Level Along With High Fever?
My sister is 49 and woke up one day confused and unable to speak complete sentences. We took her to the er where we were told her potassium levels were critically low, she was running a fever(103) d/t an infection. They put her on an slow IV with potassium. After 48 hours, she is still unable to complete a sentence. Is this diagnosis correct? Should she see a neurologist for further treatment?
