What Causes Low Platelet Count?

sir my friend aged 48 who is admitted in the hospital for the growth of skin in his nose and recent cold..after the chekup doctors said that his platelets count is very low and doctors cant identity what the reasons for lowering of his platelets..the whole family and friends are worried about his health..please consider this letter and leave a reply sincerely Sachin

low platelets count called thrombocytopenia.In immune thrombocytopenia no symptoms seen.Body immune system not work properly in ITP. Other condition viral Infection like hepatitis c ,chicken pox ,EBV ,Hiv may cause low platelets counts.

severe bacterial infection or leukaemia like condition cause low platelets counts. Bone marrow problem may ruled out.Enlargement of spleen also cause this type of problems.

Bone marrow biopsy is helpful for further diagnosis. Consent a physician for further treatment.
