What Causes Low Platelet Count And Testosterone Levels Causing Tiredness?

I am a 38 year old male, 5 foot 10 200lbs. My platelet count was 45 last month and 35 this month. Dr mentioned low testosterone as well. Dr noticed platelet count while trying to regulate low thyroid level. Lately I am very tired. Dr referred me to a hemotologist. If you could give me an idea of what they will be looking for. Thankyou

Hi,

Low testosterone levels &platelet levels would be seen in viral infections. I feel they would try to test for viruses &give you antiviral drugs as per need along with testosterone supplement if indicated.

Thank you. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
