What Causes Low Neutrophil Count Along With A High Lymphocyte Count?
Hi! Doctor, can I ask you . I was having a laboratory yesterday about my blood. The result low segments 38% and I have high lymphocytes 62%. My questions are; 1. What is the caused why I have low segments and high lymphocytes?
2. they said it's dangerous, is it true? 3. What is the good solutions of low segments and high lymphocytes?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
There can be too possibilities - First is lymphocytosis which is increased in absolute count of lymphocytes & other is Relative lymphocytosis in severe neutropenia ( neutrophils are reduced in number )hence percentage of lymphocytes are increased. So you should know the absolute lymphocyte count of your blood, which is TLC *62/100.
Causes of lymphocytosis are acute viral infections, pertussis, some protozoal infections, tuberculosis & chronic lymphocytic leukemia (blood cancer) Causes of Relative lymphocytosis are aplastic anemia, arsenic poisoning radiation, due to drugs such as phenytoin, typhoid, etc
Hope this information helps. Get well soon.
