What Causes Low Levels Of LDL And Cholesterol?

My LDL is 56, HDL 45 and Triglycerides 66 which equates to total cholesterol of 114. My brother is into homeopathic dentistry. He says my 114 is too low. My cardiologist says my nos. are good. Is there too low a level of LDL or of the total C, which I understand is just an equation of the 3 scores.

Hello!
Your cardiologist is correct. The metabolism of all the lipoproteins can be quite complex and your equation is quite a simplified version of our analytical process. LDL is the protein carrier that takes cholesterol out of the bloodstream thus lessening the chances you will have a lipid build up and arterial occlusion.

HDLs we have found are actually of several sub-types, of which you did not have all analyzed. A cholesterol of 114 with low LDLs and Triglycerides overall is good.

I do not see anything to worry about nutritionally.
