Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently got a blood test and my iron level was normal but something to do with when my red blood cells are forming they didnt have enough iron? Im confused as to what this means. I got a prescribed 300mg tablets, on a day for 3 months. Can you please expain a little more? Also will my daily 10mg cipralex tablet be affected?
In anemia of inflammation, you may have a normal / increased amount of iron link stored in your body tissues, but a low level of iron in your blood. Anemia is a condition in which your blood has fewer red blood cells or less hemoglobin than normal. Any chronic kidney disease should be ruled out.You can continue Cipralex with iron tablets and both these drugs do not have major interaction.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
