What Causes Low Hemoglobin Level?

I'm a 25 year old female and weight about 127 lbs. I'm a regular blood donor but yesterday I was told I couldn't donate because my hemoglobin levels were too low. I was told I need to eat more iron, however I'm very healthy and given my current diet, it seems odd that I would be lacking iron. Is there anything else that could be causing this? I've also had liver problems in the past and was wondering if poor liver function would effect hemoglobin levels.

Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Your hemoglobin level is low. You have iron deficiency anemia. Most common cause of low iron in adult female is excessive blood loss. Mostly heavy menstruation or some utrine bleeding. You should consult your gynecologist and go for examination. Then take treatment accordingly. Take iron rich food like jeggary, dates, green leafy vegetables, dry fruits etc. You can also take oral iron supplements. Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
