What Causes Low INR Values While On Warfarin Tablet?
Im on warfarin ,mi inr is low..i haven t missed a dosage at all never...they keep adjusting the medication...but im on warfarin since March 2015 ..i had a pulmonary embolism at that time...im concern...i been diagnose with factor 8..,is that the cause of my inr is low...
Could be an inadequate dose of warfarin. Warfarin is an oral anticoagulant which acts by decreasing the production of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors 2,7,9,10, proteins C and S.
It does not decrease factor-8. Low INR is indicative of an inadequate warfarin dose which means blood clots will not be prevented.
Consult your doctor to adjust the dose of warfarin in a such a way to have the INR target of 2.5. This range is appropriate for the prevention of venous thromboembolism.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
