What Causes Low BP While On Amiodarone?

I have a friend who has been taking amiodarone for the past 3-4 months. She is experiencing low blood pressure readings, hair loss, hand tremors, difficulty sleeping, blurred vision. Is it possible these are side effects of the medication? Should she ask her doctor to switch to another medication for her Afib?

Hi & Welcome.

Amiodarone is a broad spectrum antiarrhythmic drug used for many serious arrhythmias of the heart.

Based on the history given your friend seems to have developed side effects due to Amiodarone. So, she should inform her treating physician to prescribe an alternate effective but a safer medications for her arrhythmia.

Hope this answers your query.
