Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, I m here going to describe about me, can anybody tell me what can be possible reasons for that - i m 22 year old male and i ve good height appx. 6 1 inch but i m too skinny and my weight is appx. 65 kg. Even though i ve good diet but still my BMI is too low as compared to my height. I think development of my body has stopped, due to this my hand is too thin and also my legs and every part of my body is too thin even my genitals. Can this is caused due to hormonal imbalance or another reason at all.Should i consult any doctor for this situation.
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. Considering your weight 65kg and height 6 1,your BMI comes to 19 which is perfectly fine with in normal range. Height and weight is majorly decided by your genetic structure. You can't do much about height but weight can be increased or decreased to some extent. Your problem does not suggest any hormone abnormality or medical problem. So there is no need to consult doctor for this purpose. You should take energy dense healthy diet with exercise to keep your body in good shape. Hope this will be helpful. Take care.
