What Causes Loss Of Taste With Polyps In The Mouth And Throat?

Please help me...I have had an altered taste for a few months. Nothing tastes good. I have lost 25 lbs. with no real reason, except that I cannot keep eating the food that I have always eaten. In my mouth (upper palet) I keep getting small polips that disappear from time to time. I have noticed same polips in back of throat. Dianne.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of loss of taste in the mouth, polypi in the palate and back of throat. Hence lost the weight too.

I would advise you the following:
MRI of the brain and the cranial nerve studies.
Consult a Neurologist for clinical evaluation and the ENT Surgeon for getting to know what the polypi are about.
Once you get a probable diagnosis, treatment may be possible,
It would be worth trying with a hope that you recover.
I find this answer helpful
